Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — if you sign up: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• IP address — used to enforce usage limits for signed-out visitors and to attribute searches/clicks made without an account. We do not use it for tracking beyond that.
• Search activity — the patterns you build, the domains checked, and their availability results.
• Registrar click events — which registrar outlink you clicked and for what domain, used only in aggregate for our own product analytics.
• Error diagnostics — if enabled, unhandled errors are reported to Sentry, a third-party error-monitoring service, to help us fix bugs.
• Product analytics — if enabled, page views and in-app events (such as running a search or clicking a registrar link) are sent to PostHog, a third-party analytics service. When you are signed in we also send PostHog your account ID, email address and plan, so activity can be tied to your account. PostHog stores an identifier in your browser so a returning visitor can be recognised.
• Traffic statistics — every page view is counted by Fathom Analytics, a third-party service we use to see which pages get visited. Fathom sets no cookies, stores no identifier in your browser, and does not build a profile of you; it records the page, the referrer and a country, and nothing that identifies you personally.
• Payments — if you subscribe, your payment details are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertising networks. We share it only with the service providers described above — the registries and registrar APIs we query for availability, Sentry for error monitoring, PostHog for product analytics, Fathom for traffic statistics, and Stripe for payments — each acting on our behalf.

Data retention

If you use the Service without an account, your searches and their results are deleted after 90 days. If you have an account, they are deleted after 365 days, or sooner if you delete your account or ask us to remove them. Domains you’ve favorited or put on watch are kept separately and outlive the search that surfaced them. Registrar click analytics are retained separately, in aggregate, and are not tied to a specific search once it’s purged.

Cookies

A session cookie set by our authentication provider keeps you signed in; it is required for the site to work. If product analytics is enabled, PostHog also stores an identifier in your browser so returning visits can be recognised. Fathom, which counts page views, sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Stripe sets cookies during checkout to detect fraud. We don’t use advertising cookies and we don’t run ad-network tracking scripts.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting contact@permutica.com.

Children

The Service isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
